Douglas Low

Lincolnville, Maine – Douglas Ward Low, 60, of Lincolnville, Maine died Sunday, April 6.

Douglas was born in Rockville Center, N.Y., on April 24th 1947. His life was full of accomplishments
and loving family friends.

Douglas served in the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine USS Tullibee from 1968 to 1972.
Following his graduation from University of Connecticut magna cum laude in 1976, Douglas and
several associates formed International Marine Industries. After a lengthy career in the marine
industry, he bought Ace Aviation. Douglas’s introduction to flying began in 1987, and remained his
continuous passion as he perfected his skills and became qualified in every rating necessary to
efficiently run the FBO at Belfast airport.

His recent employment at Victron Energy, a Dutch manufacturer of power systems, has allowed the
continuation of his love of flying with frequent business trips with his colleague and best friend, Doug

This wonderful man has achieved excellence in everything he did including sailing, furniture making,
and music through playing guitar, piano, string bass and flute.

His best accomplishment has been as husband to Linsey, father to Lafe and Stefan, father-in-law to
Joan, grandfather to Devin, Julia, Patrik and Conor, and friends to all others who were part of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Douglas sometime in June; details to follow at a later date.
